American Express wanted to reach consumers in a compelling way at the US Open. Working with Kumu, Amex wanted to provide guests at the Open with the ability to “Win tennis lessons with Andy Roddick and other star players” and “Win box tickets with celebrities”. We built a touchscreen interface designed with the specific American Express campaign branding into a laser thin kiosk. Attendees entered their information for the sweepstakes and were text-messaged that evening to their mobile phone from the kiosk system if they won. We created an algorithm that allowed a random winner every evening. The winners cellphone numbers and names were sent instantly to the event producers who contacted the winners to tell them the good news.
